March 2, 2015 - The AKC list has been released and the English Bulldog has moved up the list to number 4. The Labrador tops the list again for the 24th year in a row and is the longest leader. Here is a great summary of the breed: http://bit.ly/AKC_Bulldog
December 6, 2014 - Our family had a great time at the Winter Phoenix Bulldog Club show and play-date with Santa! Barry showed Lakota and won 2nd place. Then our grandson took her in the Jr. handler class and won 1st place! This was Lakota's first time in the show ring. We were very proud of her. Fun day with friends, dogs, and Santa!
November 3, 2014 - The summer heat is finally over. So glad again for fall weather. Today is only 85 degrees and the dogs can finally stay outside and soak in the sun. For the next 5 months they will get to spend up to one hour or more outside several times a day. Even at 85 degrees a bulldog can overheat just from laying in the grass. ALWAYS keep a close eye on your Bullie.
Update...: Still waiting for the permission to release the name of the movie that Belle was the co-star in, OK enough waiting. The name of the movie is called "The Dog Wedding" No release date yet.
April 10, 2014 - Another hot day in Arizona. With the weather hitting 98 degrees, it is time for us to watch our bulldogs very closely. Make sure they are only out in 5 or 10 minute intervals with plenty of water available.
November 19, 2013 - During the month of November Belle filmed her 1st movie! She worked filming scenes around the Scottsdale, Gilbert, Mesa and Carefree/CaveCreek area. We can't reveal the name of the movie yet and it will be next summer before the film is edited and ready for release. The film is scheduled to be released in USA and Germany. A local professional wrestler was the actor and an award winning actress from Germany was the actress. Belle did a great job and has many new friends who took pictures of her everyday. We were very happy to have one of our dogs picked to co-star in a romantic comedy.
October 7, 2013 - New beginnings at Arizona's Best. Even the best of us have taken paths that don't turn out the way we plan. That's when we need to see the path before us and keep going. We will fail and then we will fail better! We have always loved this breed and now can incorporate all that we love in our daily lives and give back to our community at the same time.
October 2, 2013 - We are having so much fun preparing Belle for her first movie appearance. We are working day and night with her on her tricks. She can sit, stay, go to and stay, high five, sit stay, and lay down. She will do these now consistently. We have tried lay down and play dead, she is just a little too pudgy to roll over on her back! Poor, beautiful girl! She has been asked to star in a locally filmed movie. We are thrilled :) We love to show her off.

September 2013 - We are enjoying meeting different dog breeders from around the State of Arizona. We have met some great bulldogs while preparing Belle for her new movie debut! We have also made great connections for puppies in the valley. Please call us if you are looking for a puppy and we can direct you to the best puppies available.

March 2013 - Well... 2012 was not a good year for us and our bulldogs. We had several devastating losses that are becoming very financially and physically difficult to recover from. Last spring Lakota had managed to swallow a rope toy that created a blockage in her stomach. She stopped eating and was throwing up liquid. We took her to our vet right away and they performed emergency surgery. She did recover, but now has difficulty keeping weight on. So... Please be careful with your bulldogs and toys. We experienced several losses of our dogs late in 2012 and it has been very emotionally draining for us. We experienced pyrometria, bladder stone blockage, and the devastating loss of a very young puppy. We had not wanted to post our troubles, but realize that we want to offer support and guidance to anyone else that might be experiencing difficult times. It has also reminded us us of how much we love our pets and need to do everything we can to ensure their health and well-being.
January 2013 - The year is finally under way. That holiday season was great! Good times with friends, families and of course our Bulldogies ! After the first stone surgery for Papa Mac I had to go back for two more "rotor-rooter" clean outs. On the third visit they found an obstruction. AHHHH! What? Yes, another stone had be lodged into the urethra and was not about to budge. Thankfully my vet office has a top of the line surgical room and team. They had to preform another emergency surgery to remove the stone.
November 2012 - Well, what a month for bulldog emergencies. We have experienced a case of pyrometria, a condition that infects the uterus and needs immediate surgery. We have also experienced bladder stones in one of our dogs. Again, needs immediate surgery. Boy... you have to really be on top of noticing any change in behavior and talk with your vet if you are concerned about anything. All dogs are now recovering. Thank God for good bulldog vets!
October 2012 - Summer is OFFICIALLY over here in Phoenix Arizona. Now for the next 8 months we will have beautiful weather. The dogs will love to be outside to just lay in the sun and not get over heated. They still could so it will be limited to 10-15 minutes. All dogs are doing well. Belle went to a dog show back in September and earned another blue ribbon. Harley had her puppies and she is doing great! We have one boy and one girl! Next we will be breeding Sweet Tango. We have decided to breed her to Monkey. She should be bred in about one week.
May 13, 2012 - The beginng of summer is almost here. As a BIG reminder to all Bullie owners and lovers to make sure you keep you Bullie well hydrated. Avoid the outside as much as possible when temperatures are above 80 degrees. Keep a very close eye on your Bullie for the first signs of overheating. Cool off with a water spray bottle as soon as possible. Don't risk your Bullies life !
October 30, 2011 - Today was a fun day for all bulldog lovers in the Metro Phoenix area. The Phoenix Bulldog Club held a show and costume parade at RoadRunner Park. Barry took Belle and Lakota to the show. Lakota was just there to get used to seeing lots of people and other dogs. Belle was shown in the puppy class and she did a great job! Barry showed her great and she walked away with first place. Great dogs, great people, great fun, great day!
October 22, 2010 - As of today all of the Tribal puppies have gone home with their new families and we have successfully raised 2 litters of pups! With the exception of Lakota, who is staying here with us, all of the puppies are in their new homes and doing great. Congratulations to all the new owners. We are very pleased with each and every placement of the puppies and know that they have great lives ahead of them.
September 13, 2010 - Well... the puppies are getting better and better each day. They are eating puppy food as well as drinking water now. They are fat, happy puppies. Each day they get more wrinkles. We just love having them to play with and take care of. This litter is everything we could have hoped for. Poppa Mac sired great puppies.
August 18, 2010 - The puppies are now one week old and are all doing great. They are all gaining weight and nurse about every 2-3 hours. Some of them are already starting to get ropes and wrinkles. We will be posting more pictures every few days so watch for changes.
August 13, 2010 - The puppies are here! On Thursday, August 10, 2011 Harley had a litter of 5 puppies, 3 girls and 2 boys. They are all healthy and doing great! At just 3 days old they are already developing wrinkles. Their little faces and legs have wrinkles started already! We have never had a litter develop wrinkles so young. We were confident this litter would be special and we are not disappointed!
August 1, 2010 - Well, Harley is looking very big and uncomfortable. We are keeping an eye on her and trying to help her to be comfortable. Her babies are due in 10 days. We are so excited and will keep everyone posted!
July 16, 2010 - We are very excited to announce the confirmed pregnancy of Harley. She was bred to Poppa Mac on June 7 and the puppies are due August 11. We have been planning and anticipating this litter from the day we brought Mac home. Mac is the son of Sotakal Douglas. His bloodlines are impressive, as is he. We will post new pictures of Mac soon. He has grown up to be very beautiful, his massive head is full of wrinkles, and we are so honored to have him as part of our family. If his puppies are anything like him they will be extreme. As for Harley, all I can say is she is producing very nice for us. Her daughter that we kept, Belle Star, is becoming the queen of the house. She is so expressive, wrinkly, and perfect, she takes our breath away!
June 7, 2010 - We have some very exciting news... We bred Harley to Poppa Mac today. Mac was well behaved and has excellent semen qualitiy. We are very excited about this upcoming litter. We have planned for this litter since the day we brought Mac home. Harley will be bred again this Thursday and Saturday in order to ensure pregnancy. We will update the site as soon as pregnancy is detected. We are keeping our fingers crossed!!

May 31, 2010 - Skin conditions: Bulldogs are VERY sensitive to numerous skin condition problems. We recently learned that two of the puppies from the last litter are experiencing a very common skin condition. The condition is related to mites. Don't be alarmed, but be aware. 80% of ALL dogs have mites. Sometimes the immune system is not fully developed and the mites can start to get out of hand. One condition is referred to localized and is usually isolated to only one area. The condition can affect any part of the body but most commonly occur around the mouth, head or underbelly area. Mites are not passed on during pregnancy nor a genetic predisposition, but during nursing mites can be transferred from mom to pups. Mites are commonly present and only if they occur in more than one area are they treated. Of the 80% that have a mite condition, 90% fully recover without any treatment at all. If the mites show up in 3 or more areas, this is referred to as generalized. This commonly occurs in young puppies since the immune system is still developing or older dogs with weakened immune systems. There are treatment programs that use an antibiotic, benzo-pyroxide shampoo and ivermectin and can speed up the natural recovery process. There is NO test that is available to check for a pre-existing condition. Of the two that had the condition, one has completely recovered and the other is well on the way to recovery. We feel that this disclosure is important for our respect as breeders. We welcome any comments or questions.
2010 - Updates...Our babbies are no longer little, they are growing up. We recently received many updates from the parents and they report weights ranging from 37-40 lbs. At 5 months old, these are summa bigga kids ! Our dogs are from CH bloodlines, many of whom were World Class Show Champions. As has been said, "to breed quality you have to start off with quality." Even as a lap dog - couch potato pet, it is very important to have a quality Bulldog.
April 22, 2010 - Great News... Sweet Tango is now safely home at Arizona's Best. She is a beautiful girl from the best bloodlines available. Thank you to Janos, British Gladiator Bulldogs, for the opportunity to own such a great quality female. We look forward to showing her along with her new best friend Belle Star!
